Edward-1 Hunt, b abt 1655, d. 23 Dec 1727 in Amesbury MA. He married 10 Feb 1674 in Amesbury MA [Amesbury MA recs] to Ann WEED, dau of John & Deborah (Winsley) Weed. She b. 26 July 1657 in Salisbury MA. 20 Dec 1677 Edward Hunt, with others, took the oath of fidelity at Amesbury MA.  10:3:mo: 1680 he "Edwrd Huntt" (among others in Amesbury MA) signed a petition to the general court in relation to a military officer; In 1727 he left an estate of twenty-nine pounds. Five years after, the estate of his son John, amounting to the larger sum of two hundred and seventy-four pounds sterling, was administered by his brother-in-law David Clough, and distributed to the heirs.

Jonathan T.P.-7 HUNT (Oliver-6, Henry-5, Henry-4, Daniel-3, Samuel-2, Edward-1) b. abt 1809 in Manchester NH; m. 27 Sep 1835 to Irene DREW, dau of George Walker & Betsey (McDuffee) Drew. In March 1840 he was one of the first three members of the board of selectmen in the "New Village" (when the town center was moved to where is it now) of Manchester NH (along with Amos Weston Jr and Hiram Brown). 1 Feb 1851 he was appointed one of a building committee to build a new town-house (along with John D. Kimball and Edward McQuesten. The first meeting in the new house was held March 8, 1842).  He was employed as a mason in building the mills in Manchester NH, was treasurer of the Manchester Iron Company, in 1848 and 1852 and 1857 assistant engineer of the Manchester Fire Department; in 1851 a grantee of the Manchester Gas-Light Company; in 1859 and 1860 chief engineer of the Manchester Fire Department; a charter member of the Odd Fellows Wonolanset Encampment, Number Two; in 1861 a member of the board of directors of the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company; He died by 1870, when his wife is shown as a widow living at 95 Lowell Street in Manchester NH.

Mary Olive Ann-7 HUNT (Oliver-6, Henry-5, Henry-4, Daniel-3, Samuel-2, Edward-1) daughter of Oliver & Anna (Gilman) Hunt, was b. May 1819 in New Hampshire, and died 1908 in Manchester NH; Physician and suffragist; never married. She graduated from the New England Female Medical College in 1866-67 and had an active practice as a physician in Manchester NH. In 1907 (and possibly before) she was a member of the Manchester Medical Association and the New Hampshire Medical Society. In 1908 Dr. Hunt was the oldest living doctor holding a license to practice medicine in New Hampshire. Her family papers were donated to the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College in Northampton MA.

Oct 1923 probably in Manchester NH; m. 3 July 1865 to Dr. Thomas WHEAT, son of Nathaniel & Sarah (Fitts) Wheat. He b. 24 Jan 1821 in Candia NH, and d. 23 March 1895. In November 1915 she was in the Manchester City Directory, "Wheat, Irene A., widow Thomas, h. 1837 Elm (Street)." The 1924 Directory of Manchester NH states,"Wheat, Irene A., died Oct 1923." An ancestry.com family tree shows her first name as Jane, which I believe is simply how they interpreted the name on the census record (as I do not find her as "Jane" in any documents).

Attorney. In 1885, member board of directors of Merchant's National Bank;  He married abt 1870 to Elizabeth "Bessie" Bisbee dau of David & Sarah (Albee) Bisbee. She b April 1844/45 in Derby VT, and died in 1919, probably in Manchester NH. Bessie was a leader in the New Hampshire and national suffrage campaign. In 1870 Manchester City Nathan is shown as counsellor, 6 Patten's block, 924 Elm, house Beech, corner of Bridge. In 1924, president of Merchant's National Bank, and treasurer of the Hillsborough County savings bank, and lawyer with office at 852 Elm Street. That year his house was located at 263 North Bay Street near Clarke Street. In 1930 Nathan is living in Manchester a widow, his son Samuel P (and Samuel's wife Agnes) living with him.

These three granddaughters of Elizabeth Bisbee Hunt donated her papers, along with those of their great-aunt, Dr.  - Hunt to the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College in Northampton MA.

Jona. T.P. Hunt writes us, Sept 4 and Nov 11, 1861. His tradition is that his great-grandfather came from England to Newbury or Amesbury. His grandather carried on an iron-works at Gilmanton [NH]. His great-uncle Moses lived on the old homestead at Kingston NH. He was a fifer in the army of the Revolution; his brother henry was also on the rolls. Both from Hawke NH. J.T.P. Hunt, Esq. is Agent of the Manchester Gaslight Co., and Director, for 1861, in the Amoskeag Manufacturing Co.
