He lived on the old road from South Village to Centre Village,--house now demolished. He was a native of Marlboro, Mass. He followed the lumbering business in Canada, after he gave up his profession. He removed from Peterborough to Calais, Vt., where he d. Jan. 12, 1832, ae. 64 yrs. He m. Rebecca Barnard. She d. at Peterborough, Sept. 10, 1852, ae. 84 years. Jan 30, 1790; a soldier in the war of 1812; always resided in town (Peterborough NH) after his father removed here in 1812. He m. Eliza French, Dec. 27, 1815. He d. March 1, 1850, ae 60 yrs. Aug 15, 1856 ae 27; married 2nd Arvilla Holbrook. She d. Nov 29, 1872 ae 41. Child of George & Abby (Kimball) Bruce: 1. George K. Bruce, b. April 20, 1856 CHARLES F. BRUCE, son of Peter & Eliza (French) Bruce, b. Oct 16, 1826; He was a machinist by trade. He occupied the farm of the late Jonathan Felt. He was in the naval service in the Civil War. He m. May 26, 1848, Mary E. Crombie. She b. Dec 26, 1828. Children of Charles F. & Mary E. (Crombie) Bruce: 1. Harriet E. Bruce, b. Dec 27, 1849; d. Aug 7, 1852, ae 2 yrs. 2. Anna E. Bruce, b.
